Here is a sneak peek at some patterns I’ve created this month for Walgreens. They run the gamut from holiday to summer, so they are and odd bunch together colorwise, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little.

How I long for the days when I had time for 3-4 Minted.com submissions per challenge. Alas, my schedule only seems to allow me one entry every other challenge or so. Although I have to admit, I tend to only pursue ideas that will take me forever to illustrate, like my newest submission above. But - why draw one person when you can draw fifteen? Ooooh because drawing fifteen takes fifteen times as long you say? Touche. Well played sir, well played. -

Some stripes today as I procrastinate designing the greeting cards I have on my plate. It is grey and dreary outside my window this morning, with a chaotic mix of wind and snow. I’ve always found it hard to focus on dismal mornings. I think I’ll turn my space heater up, just a tidge.

It’s been raining instead of snowing this winter here in chicago, and it makes me tap dance down the street and sing songs about rainbows. Anything is better than shoveling my car out of a five foot snow drift.

Still playing around with colors as I’m inching towards the end of winter break. Looking forward to some much needed time designing once my son is back in school!

Okay, so. Let’s just say damask patterns and I aren’t friends. I don’t like drawing them even more than I don’t like looking at them. BUT! I was thinking about how when I’m doing yoga sometimes the poses I dislike the most are the ones I need the most. Perhaps it is the same way with design, methinks. So here you have it. One begrudgingly created damask-esqe pattern. I don’t hate it, which is a better outcome than I had predicted. You can view more of my pattern design work at LeslieHamer.com.

Sigh. I wish I had more time for Minted! The newest art challenge is so exciting, but all the pieces I would want to do would take so much time and I’m slammed with work right now. At least I had some time yesterday to contribute the above image. I created it in tribute to my darling parakeet teddy who passed away - it’s just not home without teddy!

It’s a little known fact that I do all of the eblasts for Paper Source. Some are more exciting than others, but I thought I would share this one because those little mustache ghosts with the conductor hats on just kill me every time. I’m getting a little more excited for Halloween this year because for the first time I have a home instead of an apartment and will have trick-or-treaters! I can’t wait.

I had always wondered how many christmas photo cards I could create in a weekend. The answer is a LOT. Now all I have to do is pack up all my belongings and move my small family into our new home… one day is enough to do all that stuff right?
